Shipping policy

Our goal is to offer you the best shipping options while minimizing our carbon footprint. Shipping rates will display during the check out process and are calculated based on the items being purchased to ensure the most cost effective rates.

Rates and shipping options will be automatically calculated based on items in your cart.

You will usually have three options to choose from:

Ground: 3-5 business days

Expedited: 2 business days

Overnight: 1 business days

Please anticipate delays during Covid-19 as mail carriers work as fast as possible to get your packages delivered.

While we would love to offer international shipping, it goes against our core values. We deeply care about our environmental impact, which is why 99% of our products are sourced locally (Made in the USA) and we have made the decision to only offer nation wide shipping. One day we hope to launch locations in other countries to help their economies and implement the same practices mentioned above.

We have invested in 100% recycled and biodegradable shipping mailers, boxes, filler and packaging tape. The shipping label paper and tape we use to attach it are made from 75% recycled content. Any plastic packaging or wrapping you see was recycled from what our vendors used to ship their products to us. Please keep these efforts going by recycling and reusing all shipping content you recieve.

Thank you for your interest in eco-friendly shipping solutions. We know that huge marketplaces with massive market share are making free shipping more and more common. Because of this, we have gotten the question - "Why doesn't The Conservationist offer free shipping?"

Unfortunately, the answer is we simply cannot afford it.

Why is this?

Carriers like UPS, USPS, FEDEX do not ship for free. There is an expensive and growing cost to ship products and we are at their mercy.

It is important to note that many Merchants who do offer "free shipping" are not actually gifting consumers. They are likely raising the price of their products to cover their shipping costs.

Big companies (like Amazon) get deeply discounted shipping rates from the carriers. Smaller, independent companies (like us), do not enjoy those rates. Big companies are better positioned to offer "free shipping" and mark up their products with a smaller increase.

What we do promise is reliable shipping with eco-friendly packaging (see previous question) and we will continue to explore new shipping alternatives and rates.

Returns and exchanges

Although we strive to ensure our customers have the best shopping experience with us, we know returns are bound to occur. We are here to make the process as simple as possible.

Returns are accepted for 30 days from the time the item was purchased. Unfortunately, if 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund and exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. We also require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. It is important to note that only regular priced items may be returned, unfortunately sale items and gifts cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Additional items that are exempt from returns include:

- Intimate items (ex: underwear, toothbrush, razors)

- Opened/used skincare products

- Opened/used candles

- Sale items

- Gifts and Gift cards

- Downloadable software products

- Shipping costs

To return your product, please mail it to

ATTN: The Conservationist RETURN

2281 Tevis Ave, Long Beach CA 90815, United States

Please note at this time we do not cover the cost of shipping returns.

Product Standards

The brands we carry have missions and purposes that align with ours. Many of them champion conservation efforts. We constantly work to ensure we are up to date on the latest ingredient and product concerns, trends and regulations. If you have any questions or see something we might have missed, please let us know.

Biodegradable product packaging and material is our first choice, but when that is not possible we look for brands with packaging and material made from recycled contents.

Yes all of our products are cruelty-free. We care about our voiceless animal kin and never allow them to be used in any products we carry. We say no to any brands that test on animals and strongly educate them on present day alternatives in hopes they will end vivisection forever. We also steer clear of any ingredients that cause habitat loss (good bye palm oil).
